Exploring Plitvice Lakes in Croatia

Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest National Park in Croatia and is also a UNESCO Heritage Site. There are sixteen lakes famous for their unique blue color. The park also has countless waterfalls and diverse flora and fauna. The park can be reached by direct buses from Zagreb and Zadar. It is also pretty easy to arrange tours from Split and Sibenik. You will definetly want a minimum of a full day to wander the trails and take in the beauty of the park. It is possible to explore both the upper and lower sections of the park in one day. There are a few hotels within the park, if you want to maximize your time there.
